国内本科毕业后服务于凯悦国际。1994赴美留学，在康奈尔大学酒店管理学院攻读酒店管理硕士，专攻收益管理及信息技术方向。1996年至2001年，在Choice Hotel International (世界第二大酒店连锁集团)、Talus Solutions Inc. 和WorldRes公司(美国第三大酒店预订网站)担任公司收益管理和系统研发经理、高级商业顾问和高级产品经理。2001年6月开始，曹志刚尝试与朋友共同创业，经营管理Altio/IntegraSP美国分公司；2004年，联合创建了美国Search Party Inc.，研发了搜索引擎产品的原型；同年在中国成立了北京时代一峰信息技术有限公司（Go10000.com），任董事长。
